blood drive....
blood drive was a success the last 2 days though we didn't meet our target. is sad but after all the whole event is a success. =)
guess being in the previous blood drive event give me a sense of familiarity on what to do in the blood drive this time round as this recent blood drive consist a lot of new red cross members. i can say it's really another eye opener for me as i see people streaming in on the first day to donate blood. facilitators, students, staffs. is really great to see own people giving such a great support to the blood drive. i can say that the blood drive is really gd even though there isn't blood buddy walking around the school like previous blood drive and we can get donors more than the previous one.
i guess the incident at the end of the blood drive is more of unexpected experience.
we were heading out for dinner at causeway point, jeff and michael wanted to collect back the consent forms at the OSC when we received a news of a student fainted at the bus stop that has the bus service 903. it shocked us but we calmed ourselves down and rushed ourselves to the bus stops. we went to the one at the HDB blocks but no one was there. i was having this feeling that it might be the one at the park near our school. i left my bags to the guys and dashed my way to that bus stop. i was right, there is someone lying on the ground. i rushed over and i saw is actually one of our donors, who also fainted after donating. asked the passer by who witness her fainting while waiting for the rest to arrive.
soon staff from rp came and the security, shocked to see joshua came down. hahax... medics. hehex =) send the girl to the sick bay and another staff came over and take a look. hahax again one of our donors, who is also a first aider. =) called the parents and jeff called the doctor from HSA. they told him to send the girl to hospital A&E section. called ambulance here too.
medics arrive and i have to say, they are really really professional. =) send the girl to TTS hospital and case closed.
i have to say, it's the first time for me to get into this kind of situations. the experience gain really couldn't get from anywhere else. i'm really happy to be a part of this situation, though i land myself being sick at night when i was home. i felt is worth it, even though being sick but before that saving a life. guess nothing is better than this. =)
i'm glad that i'm a first aider. =)
